Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media - Video & Motion Graphics

  • Objectives Our students graduate with sophisticated creative and technical abilities as well as a comprehensive understanding of design principles, project management and industry needs.


    Previous graduates from our Multimedia and Digital Media courses have successfully established their own multimedia consultancies; worked as part of multi-skilled teams in the fields of education, entertainment, information and commerce both internationally and in Australia; and have exhibited at SIGGRAPH, dLux media Arts, Fringe, Fusion new media festivals and events. Current students are already making their mark with exhibitions and independent commissions.
  • Entry requirements There are two main ways to apply for courses at Victoria University: through the Victoria Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) or by applying directly to VU.




    You are also required to attend an interview to present a portfolio.




    * Applicants should have satisfactorily completed Year 12 (VCE or equivalent).



    * Course related experience preferred but not essential.




    Applicants without the specified educational prerequisites may be eligible to enter courses if they have relevant work experience and/or can demonstrate their potential to successfully complete their chosen course.
  • Course description

    The Video/Motion Graphics stream of the Advanced Diploma of Screen & Media involves essential skills in video production, conceptual development and software applications used in broadcast and video post-production industries.  Foundation design principles and cultural studies add important background to the study of 2D & 3D animation, motion design, video editing, audio design, screen writing and production workshops in both location and studio environments.

    Our courses emphasise practical work and project management with a strong focus on the latest development trends, usability and design. You will gain advanced software skills and have some great real-world industry based learning experiences.
