ObjectivesNeed an alternative entry path into agribusiness? Are you keen to study agribusiness but don't meet the entry requirements? If you haven't undertaken the Tertiary Entrance Examination (TEE) or achieved the minimum TER to gain entry, this enabling course offers you an alternative pathway into the Associate Degree in Agribusiness or Bachelor of Agribusiness. In this course, you will learn how to effectively utilise major Microsoft programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer, in an agricultural context. You will study mathematics and develop strong written and oral communication skills, including important academic writing skills. Your farm practice units will link your study with the practice of agriculture. In this course you will spend 12 weeks studying at the Northam Campus. The first six week intensive course starts in mid March and the second six week course starts in early September. During the remainder of the year you will be required to undertake a minimum of six months full-time work experience in an agribusiness organisation, which may include a farming operation.

Introduction
This course is designed for applicants who have not undertaken the Tertiary Entrance Examination or achieved the minimum Tertiary Entrance Rank to gain entry to Muresk agribusiness courses.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Available for students who do not meet the University's usual entry requirements. Successful completion will qualify students for entry to the Associate Degree and Agribusiness degree courses at Muresk Institute.

Applicants are selected on the basis of an interview.
Duration and Availability
The course is one year full-time study.
Course Organisation
The course involves one year of full-time work on a commercial property or an organisation involved in agribusiness. Part of this study is undertaken during the compulsory residential seminars and part is undertaken while working on the property. It is agovernment directive that students undertaking this enabling course can only undertake designated enabling/bridging units. Students intending to study mainstream units may only undertake them in accordance with their conditions of admission and then onlyas part of a non-award extension fee-paying program.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. Some units within this course may have a field component, for which costs may be incurred.
