Bachelor of Applied Science (Architectural Science)
ObjectivesArchitecture is much more than simply providing good building design. As an architect, you will be involved in the design of quality environments in which people live, work and play. There are many different architectural specialties and you could find yourself involved in urban design, environmental research, building conservation, heritage matters or community development. This course will provide you with an understanding of both the practical and theoretical sides of architecture. The design of buildings, technical aspects of building construction and how architecture relates to people and how they live are all covered in depth. You will also discover how to effectively communicate your architectural ideas through written and spoken reports, photographs, drawings, models and electronic media. This course is the prerequisite for entry into the Master of Architecture degree which will qualify you to pursue a career as a practising architect.
Entry requirementsNon-TEE students are required to submit a portfolio and attend an interview. Please see Humanities' portfolio requirements for details.
