ObjectivesExplore a variety of modes and genres of writing to find your niche. You will be provided with an opportunity to develop your skills though experimentation in a variety of creative forms and styles. Artists-in-residence will broaden your range of writing ideas and provide you with professional advice and support. This major forms part of the Bachelor of Arts (Communication and Cultural Studies). It will give you the chance to give public readings of your work and to be published in a regularly produced magazine, written and edited by students. Curtin’s Creative Writing students have been the recipients of many national and international awards – want to join them?

Introduction
This major enables students to produce critically informed creative works for publication, production and performance.
Career Opportunities
Graduates are well-equipped to find employment across a wide spectrum of careers as well as in their field of specialisation. They are employed in areas such as arts administration, information technology-based work, teaching, the media industries, public relations, advertising, as well as in local, state and national government. Graduates may also wish to undertake further specialised study in Honours or the postgraduate program, which includes the Master of Arts, Master of Philosophy (Communication and Cultural Studies), Master of Philosophy (Creative Arts) and Doctor of Philosophy.
