This major, which can be undertaken as part of the Bachelor of Commerce, will introduce you to accounting principles, auditing, taxation and relevant areas of business law and financial management. You will examine the recording and communication of information relating to the financial performance of organisations. You will learn to prepare reports or give advice on an organisation’s record-keeping and compliance requirements, ensuring you are ready for a successful career in any sector of industry.

    Accounting Major

    Introduction

    This major is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of, and competencies in, accounting and associated fields of auditing, taxation, business law, and financial management. It meets the educational requirements of CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and equips graduates for a professional accounting career in commerce, industry, government or public practice. It is recognised as being acceptable for membership of CPA Australia.
