ObjectivesThis program provides training in construction management and produces graduates capable of managing and controlling complex construction projects. Students should note prerequisite requirements and course availability (in this handbook) when formulating and nominating their study load for the year. Courses are offered annually. It is suggested that courses be studied as shown in the recommended study schedule. The loading may be varied to balance work and family commitments. If assistance is required, contact the Program Advisor. Students should actively seek employment in the building industry. Prospective students should note that exemptions from courses within the program may be given where their previous study at AQF certificate 4 level or higher fully meets the learning outcomes of a course. Students should not enrol into a course where they are seeking an exemption. The Faculty has established sets of exemptions for holders of selected TAFE qualifications.

Course description
About Construction Management
Construction managers need not only an in-depth knowledge of construction but also advanced expertise in planning and communication, good financial sense, and a solid ethical framework. Our Bachelor of Construction Management will help you develop these qualities as you study all aspects of building and construction management, including their legal and economic dimensions.
Studies cover courses associated with construction management, construction planning, building maintenance, building materials, services, structures and documented work experience along with professional practice and communication. Principles of sustainability are integrated throughout the program.
CQUniversity's built environment field of study is designed with students' needs in mind. Offered exclusively by distance education mode, the program is completed part-time while you are working or seeking employment in the industry.
Career Opportunities
Construction managers plan, organise and control activities associated with the construction process of building projects and usually work in government departments, construction, building and sub-contracting companies, and corporations with a large building portfolio.
