Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Psychological Science
ObjectivesThis double degree enables students who wish to study law and psychological science to obtain a degree in these fields. The ECU Bachelor of Laws degree satisfies the academic requirements for admission of law graduates as legal practitioners in Western Australia (WA). As with other Bachelor of Laws degrees, before a law graduate may be admitted to the legal profession in that state or territory, certain additional requirements must be satisfied after completion of the degree. For law graduates seeking admission in WA, refer to the Legal Practice Act 2003 (WA). The Bachelor of Psychological Science is accredited by the Australian Psychological Society, and on completion, students are able to proceed to a fourth year approved by the Australian Psychological Society. As with other bachelor degrees in psychology, registration as a psychologist will require a further two years of post graduate training and/or supervised experience.

The Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Psychological Science consists of 48 units. Each unit is valued at 15 credit points giving a total course value of 720 credit points. The program will include twenty one (21) Law core units (315 credit points), eleven (11) Law electives (165 credit points) and sixteen (16) Psychology units (240 credit points).

PSY1101 Introduction to Psychology must be successfully completed before undertaking any subsequent units in Psychology. However, this unit can be taken in conjunction with PSY1102 Research Methods in Psychology 1. Students should take care in ensuring that they satisfy the pre-requisites for any unit.
