Bachelor of Science (Chemistry and Scientific Computing)
ObjectivesThis double major, which can be taken as part of the Bachelor of Science - School of Science and Computing, will provide you with a solid background in the principles and practices of scientific computing and chemistry. It will prepare you for a range of employment opportunities which require computing and technological skills combined with a sound knowledge of the chemical sciences. Upon completion of this course you will graduate with a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry and Scientific Computing).
Entry requirementsTEE Applicable Mathematics and Chemistry. TEE Calculus is desirable. If Introductory Calculus has not been studied, a bridging unit may be required.

Introduction
This double major program provides graduates with a solid background in the principles and practices of scientific computing and chemistry. It prepares students for a range of employment opportunities that require computing and technological skills combined with a sound knowledge of the chemical sciences. Examples of such careers include computational chemists working in the pharmaceutical industry; scientific instrument software engineers developing programs for modern instrumentation; chemical scientists utilizing data and information management systems in the modern laboratory; and chemical researchers developing unique computer controlled research instrumentation.
Specific Requirements
STAT is not acceptable for mature age entry but may be used to demonstrate English Competence requirements.
