Program ratingThe Civil Systems major prepares students as civil engineers, instilling concepts of community service, development and improvement. Problem solving in the areas of traffic congestion, drinking water, pollution, energy needs, community planning and urban development develop the skills for a graduate to be able to work in the industry today. Six "Breadth" subjects are part of the bachelor, allowing students to study something outside of the science faculty and learn something to complement their degree.

EmployabilityThe Civil System degree leads to employment as a civil engineer in organisations such as manufacturing companies, research organisations, mining companies, academic institutions, energy agencies and local, state and federal governments.
