Bachelor of Science (Environmental Management)

  • Objectives Introduces students to the multidisciplinary nature of Environmental Management. Involves an understanding of the environment, and the knowledge and skills used in its management. Disciplines include Biological Sciences, Conservation Biology, Environmental and Biological Chemistry, Marine and Freshwater Management and Catchment Management.

    Bachelor of Science (Environmental Management) students can study unitsets in the following disciplines as part of this course:

       
    Students must select a second major from the list below and complete 120 credit points, which will consist of the required core units and recommended electives.
        * Biological Sciences
        * Conservation Biology
        * Environmental and Biological Chemistry
        * Marine and Freshwater Management
        * Catchment Management

    This course structure contains information about the units which comprise the course as well as the credit points required to successfully complete it.

    This course is a 26 unit degree (including 2 practicum units), with a 360 credit point value.

    The degree has three main components:

    1. A core program of eight units completed in the first year.

    2. A core of eight units specific to Environmental Management.

    3. A second major* chosen from the list below:

    Biology

    Conservation Biology

    Environmental Chemistry

    Marine and Freshwater Management

    Catchment Management

    *With permission of the course coordinator an eight-unit Supporting Major from a course offered by another school may be selected instead of a recommended Second Major.
