Bachelor of Science (Security)

  • Objectives Develops knowledge and skills in security management, risk management and security technologies necessary for employment in such areas as: government security, private sector security, strategic critical facilities, security consultancies, retail security, financial institutions security, corporate security, and major security organisations. Emphasises security risk and the function and management of security technology in the protection of assets, and is supported by appropriate studies in law and ethics. Graduates will be well equipped for a career in the security industry.

    This course is not available for on-campus study by students on an International student visa.
    This course structure contains information about the units which comprise the course as well as the credit points required to successfully complete it.

     
    The course structure is set out below, which includes the 14 unit Security Science major, a prescribed minor set of 6 units and 4 electives.

     
    A minor is a recognised package of units that consists of six prescribed units. Due to the diverse nature of Security Science, there are many possible and suitable minor sets. Please contact the Course Coordinator for suitable minor sets.
