Certificate I In General Education For Adults (Introductory)
ObjectivesThe purpose of this course is to develop your skillls in reading, writing, numeracy and work skills, so you can participate in your community, work and further education and training.
Entry requirementsThis course is available in several different formats: 1. In adult pathways programs you need to be over 16 years old and have left school. 2. In the youth program "ConnectED" you need to be between 16 and 19 years of age, not working full time and have not completed your VCE or VCAL. 3. In the youth program "Connect2 General" you need to be between 16 and 19 yeras of age, not working full time and have not completed your VCE or VCAL. Other Entry Requirements 1. New students can begin any time during Semester 1, after an interview. 2. "ConnectED" for young people commences in term 3, after an interview. 3. "Connect2 General" for young people commences in term 4, after an interview.

Packaging Rules
1. Ten Core Units- Learning plan, project, reading, writing and numeracy. Special interest electives from numeracy, verbal communication, computing, work related or general skills.
2. Thirteen units including literacy, numeracy, individual planning and project work.

Recognition of your current qualifications and prior learning: BRIT has processes to give you credit for relevant units from your prior study, and to assess your prior learning against units in a course.
