Certificate II in Agriculture

  • Objectives This course is for people currently working on a mixed enterprise (sheep, beef, cropping) or dairy farm, providing basic farming skills in fencing, livestock husbandry, tractor operations and front end loader use, welding and machinery maintenance.
  • Entry requirements You must be at least 16 years of age, with basic literacy and numeracy skills. You need to be currently employed on a commercial farm, physically fit and prepared to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Academic title Certificate II in Agriculture
  • Course description Key areas covered include:

        * Livestock husbandry
        * Machinery maintenance
        * Identifying and marking livestock
        * Introduction to farm chemical use
        * Crutching sheep
        * Tractor operations
        * Farm fencing
