  • Objectives This introductory level training program is designed for people who are interested in entering the cleaning industry, or those who are already in the industry and wanting a qualification. You will learn the basic skills required by the industry. Work placement is also part of this course. (no cost to the participant) This course is offered throughout regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. * BRIT is a Gold member of the BSCAA (Building Services Contractors Assoc of Aust) * BRIT Cleaning Operations has been acknowledged by the Industry Skills Council as a leader in the field * BRIT Cleaning Operations provides qualification training and assessment throughout Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional centres across Victoria * Meeting the needs of the cleaning industry since 1997

  • Course description Key Study Areas      You will gain the skills needed to work in the cleaning industry including:  

        * Maintaining and restoring hard floors
        * Maintaining soft floors
        * Cleaning furnishings and fittings
        * Cleaning wet areas (bacteria free)
        * Cleaning glass surfaces
        * Maintaining equipment
        * Removing waste (infection)
        * OHS
        * Chemical handling and storage
        * Planning and safe cleaning operations
        * Communications

    As well as the theory and practical training, the course includes a work experience component if desired, where you will have the opportunity to work with employers undertaking the above cleaning tasks.

    This course is offered on a part time basis - 6 hours a day for 8 days over a over 6 week period.

    Employment Opportunities    

    On successfully completing this course you will be eligible for employment in a variety of cleaning areas.   It also provides an accredited qualification for those already working in the cleaning industry.

    Further Study Options    

    Traineeships at this level are available to those currently working in the industry. Government incentives may be available to employers who employ trainees.

    Recognition of Prior Learning    

    Recognition of your current qualifications and prior learning: BRIT has processes to give you credit for relevant units from your prior study, and to assess your prior learning against units in a course.
