ObjectivesThe course provides the off-the-job training component of a traineeship and can cover panel preparation, vehicle dismantling or vehicle presentation, depending on the stream you choose.
Entry requirementsBefore you begin this course, you will need to gain employment as an automotive vehicle body trainee, under a training agreement established with your employer and BRIT.

Employment Opportunities
On successfully completing this course you will be eligible for employment in the automotive vehicle body repair industry as an assistant to trade qualified panel beaters.
Duration Options
As a traineeship, the course is up to 12 months in duration from the date of commencement of employment, but training may not begin immediately.
Further Study Options
You may choose to enter into an apprenticeship agreement with an employer in order to progress toward a trade qualification and career.
Assessment
You will be assessed as part of this course.
Packaging Rules
AUR05: Automotive Industry Retail, Service And Repair Training Package
13 units of competence are required to complete this qualification within the specific requirements as set out in the three areas below:
ONE The following units of competence are compulsory:
* AURC270103A Apply safe working practices
Plus a minimum of 1 of the following 3 units of competence:
* AURC272003A Apply environmental regulations and best practice in a workplace or business (applicable to glaziers, window tinters, etc who are not dealing with the toxic substances found in mechanical or body repair workplaces)
* AURT271781A Implement and monitor environmental regulations in the automotive mechanical industry (applicable to vehicle dismantlers/assemblers)
* AURV271403A Apply environmental regulations and best practice in the body repair industry (applicable specifically to those in a body repair workshop)
TWO 8 units of competence from the Vehicle Body Inventory
THREE 3 units of competence from the Retail, Service and Repair or any endorsed training package that meet the needs of the enterprise
