ObjectivesThis is a hands-on certificate providing you with an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to work in a commercial kitchen. Areas covered are tailored to meet your current workplace requirements, but can include preparing food for a chef, knife skills and safety, and cooking methods.
Entry requirementsThere are no prerequisites for this course, but a passion to train in hospitality is desired.

On successfully completing this course you will be eligible for employment in a number of areas in the hospitality industry, including hotels, motels and clubs, cafes, restaurants and bistros, hospitals, airlines, catering companies, cruise liners and the armed services.
This certificate level would also provide a pathway into Australian Apprenticeships.
Further Study Options
On successfully completing the Certificate II in Hospitality, you may choose to go on to the Certificate III, IV and Diploma levels.
