ObjectivesThis course provides the off-the-job training required for a traineeship in outdoor power equipment. You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career working for businesses who service and repair outdoor power equipment including chainsaws, lawn mowers, pumps, generators, line trimmers and post hole diggers.
Entry requirementsBefore you begin your training, you will need to gain employment as an outdoor power equipment trainee, under a training agreement established with your employer and BRIT.

This course provides the foundation for an apprenticeship, or you may be eligible for work operating and maintaining outdoor power equipment.
Duration Options
The traineeship takes up to 12 months from the date of commencing employment, but training may not begin immediately.
Further Study Options
This course provides a pathway to Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment (Apprenticeship) for those seeking a trade qualification.
