Duration Options
A fabrication and welding apprenticeship takes up to 4 years to complete, involving part time attendance at BRIT during the first 3 years. There are a designated number of one week study blocks over the 3 years, with a maximum of 8 weeks per year required. Alternatively, 1 day per week for 40 weeks over 3 years may be offered. (An agreement may be negotiated to allow for off- the- job training to be undertaken in the workplace, TAFE or a combination of both.)
Selection Process
• No Selection Process Required
Employment Opportunities
On successfully completing a fabrication apprenticeship you will be eligible for employment in a number of fields, including manufacturing, construction, mining/quarry industry, food industry, agricultural products, general engineering, vessel and pipeline manufacturing, oil rig construction/maintenance, vehicle manufacturing.
Further Study Options
On completion of Certificate III in Engineering you can apply for enrolment in the Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Engineering. Other pathways lead into management and para professional positions. Contact BRIT for more information.
