ObjectivesThis apprenticeship course provides the training component of a bricklaying/blocklaying apprenticeship. You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career as a bricklayer/blocklayer.
Entry requirementsBefore you begin your training, you must gain full time employment as a bricklaying/blocklaying apprentice, under a training agreement established with your employer.

Duration Options
The Bricklaying/Blocklaying Apprenticeship takes up to 4 years to complete, however it may be possible to achieve time exemptions based on existing competency or accelerated learning achievements. Training may involve part time attendance at BRIT during the first 3 years.

Employment Opportunities
After completing this course you will be eligible for employment in the growing building industry, in both domestic and commercial companies. Once you have developed experience in the industry you may have the opportunity to start your own business by becoming a registered builder.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of your current qualifications and prior learning: BRIT has processes to give you credit for relevant units from your prior study, and to assess your prior learning against units in a course.
