Certificate III in Telecommunications Cabling and Customer Premises
ObjectivesThis qualification forms part of the Telecommunications Training Package, and provides training in installing, updating and maintaining telecommunications cabling and equipment. The skills developed throughout the course are used by telecommunications and IT network cabling installers, by satellite and free-to-air TV installers, and by security system installers. After six months of supervised on the job cabling experience graduates will be eligible to obtain an Open Cabling Licence.

These will provide knowledge and practice in a range of areas including phone, structured cabling, optic fibre cabling and free to air and satellite TV reception.

The course can be undertaken as an (equivalent) six-month full-time course or as a workplace-based traineeship.
