Certificate IV in Community Services (Lifestyle and Leisure)

  • Objectives Workers in this occupational group work in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres. Work may be under professional supervision. These workers assist in design, implementation and evaluation of health and leisure for clients in one or more sector areas. These workers may be responsible for other workers. As well this course is designed for people who are employed in the aged care sector or disability fields, and whose role includes organising, supporting and providing recreation and leisure programs.   • Entry requirements You will have current experience in supporting the lifestyle and leisure needs of older people and/or people with disabilities. Ideally you will have the support of your supervisor as many of the assessment tasks will be completed using work-based projects. Other Entry Requirements You will need the organisational, communication, study, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to year 12 level.

    This certificate develops knowledge, skills and attitudes required of workers in the community services and health industry, with a specialist focus on leisure and lifestyle programs in aged care and disability services.
