Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

  • Objectives This course provides the knowledge and skills required for a teaching career in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) environment. This includes VCAL, VET in Schools and working in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

    If you hold the former qualification (i.e. Workplace Trainer and Assessor), you can complete an upgrade to the latest qualification.
  • Entry requirements There are no formal prerequisites, however you are expected to have sound language, literacy, numeracy and computer skills in word processing and internet browsing/searching.

    You have to hold a vocational qualification in the area in which you wish to teach. Ideally, you should also be employed in a position where training can be carried out.
    Other Entry Requirements
    Positions are based on availability, successful completion of a language, literacy, numeracy and computer skills assessment, and interview by the course coordinator.

    On successfully completing this course you will be eligible for employment as a trainer and assessor in the VET Environment, including RTO, industry, VCAL and VET in Schools programs.
