Diploma of Conservation and Land Management

  • Objectives The Diploma in Conservation and Land Management provides the knowledge and skills required for management level positions in conservation and land management. This is a hands-on training program where you learn whilst working with industry.
  • Entry requirements Successful completion of the Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management, or equivalent. High level literacy and numeracy skills. You must be physically fit and prepared to work in an outdoor environment.

        * GIS/mapping for environmental management
        * Implementing an environmental management plan

    Duration Options

    Study options available for the Diploma in Conservation and Land Management, include:

    • Class based
    • Industry based (on-the-job)

    The full time Class based program is conducted over 12 months.  A part time program can be negotiated to be undertaken within 24 months.

    Industry based training program will be defined by the negotiated training plan, however you are encouraged to complete this qualification within 24 months.

    On successfully completing this course you will be eligible for employment across a wide range of conservation and land management roles. Previous graduates from this program are currently working with a range of conservation and land management stakeholders in most states of Australia.     Further Study Options    

    Successful completion of this diploma can lead to the Degree in Conservation and Land Management. BRIT has formal transition arrangements with La Trobe and Charles Sturt Universities for BRIT graduates to gain exemptions for some degree subjects.     Recognition of Prior Learning    

    Recognition of your current qualifications and prior learning: BRIT has processes to give you credit for relevant units from your prior study, and to assess your prior learning against units in a course.
