ObjectivesAre you interested in undertaking one of the many bachelor degrees offered by our Faculty of Science and Engineering? If you haven't had much of an opportunity to advance your knowledge and skills in science and mathematics before, you may be interested in undertaking this foundation course. You will develop a strong background in maths and the ‘enabling' sciences which will prepare you to successfully tackle a degree in science or engineering. On successful completion, you will be guaranteed a place in the Bachelor of Science (Multidisciplinary Science). You will be eligible to apply for other courses offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering, however entry is competitive and will depend on your performance and the current demand for your preferred course. If you enrol in the Bachelor of Science (Multidisciplinary Science), you will be provided with every opportunity to improve your scholarly performance and switch to your chosen degree course.

Introduction
This course is designed to provide foundation studies for students intending to undertake bachelor degrees in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. It is particularly suitable for those who have not had an opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills in sciences and mathematics. Female students are encouraged to apply. Successful completion of the course will satisfy the University's entry eligibility requirements with students eligible to enrol in a bachelor degree program in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds may be directed to English language bridging courses.

Course Organisation
A study program is determined by the Undergraduate Coordinator following an interview and an assessment of career pathways by the student. Depending on units undertaken, this may not be a standard full-time load.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
