This course aims to introduce students to the principles of health risk assessment and its application to risk management strategies.
It also aims to explore the importance of successful risk communication, particularly to affected communities.
This course is particularly relevant to meet the continuing professional development needs of graduates working in the Environmental Health profession.
The course will develop skills in research methodologies and use case study materials to develop a critical understanding of the application of risk assessment to current and emerging environmental health issues.
The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Health (Risk Assessment) is an 18-unit program offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences on a Commonwealth Supported basis. The graduate certificate is normally undertaken full-time in one semester or part-time in two semesters.
PROGRAM OF STUDY [November, 2008]
To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Environmental Health (Risk Assessment), a student must complete 18 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the following program of study.
