ObjectivesThe course is designed to provide basic certification requirements for teachers who wish to be involved in Religious Education. It aims to assist teachers in primary or secondary schools to gain fundamental knowledge, skills and competencies needed for Religious Education.

Course descriptionStudents who complete the Graduate Certificate can continue into the Graduate Diploma course if they wish to extend their professional qualifications. This course is also intended to provide the necessary specialisation in religious education for entry to the Master of Religious Education course for those students with four years of tertiary study in Education which do not include substantial successful study in Religious Education at the fourth year level.

EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Requirements for Completion of the Graduate Certificate
1.1 To qualify for the Graduate Certificate, a student must complete 40 cp from Part A of the Schedule of Unit Offerings consisting of:
1. 10 cp from Strand 1;
2. 10 cp from Strand 2;
3. 10 cp from Strand 3;
4. 10 cp from Strand 4.
1.2 A student who is concurrently undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) in Queensland must complete 40 cp from the units listed in Part B of the Schedule of Unit Offerings.
