ObjectivesThis program is aimed at the professional upgrading of persons entering or employed in the area of environmental management. More specifically, the program aims to produce persons who understand different environmental philosophies, strategies and environmental management work processes, are able to contribute positively to the management of maintenance, have practical knowledge of environmental management and sustainability tools and can successfully conduct research in environmental management.

Entry requirements
Applicants who have a bachelor degree (in engineering, technology, science or business) may be enrolled directly into the Master of Environmental Management program. Progression to the masters project requires satisfactory completion of 8 Graduate Diploma program courses. Applicants who do not possess a bachelor degree can be admitted to the Masters program only via the Graduate Diploma. Such applicants must have extensive experience at a senior level in environmental or operations management and must have achieved excellent results in the Graduate Diploma program. Such applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

About Environmental Management
CQU's Environmental Management programs are designed to enable practitioners to integrate pro-active environmental management strategies into their everyday professional roles. The programs are offered from the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Health.
The programs aim to provide professional engineers and scientists with an in-depth understanding of environmental issues, problems and solutions. They also aim to provide the necessary knowledge and tools to integrate environmental consideration into all aspects of professional scientific and engineering roles.
Career Opportunities
This program extends the knowledge and expertise of engineers and scientists in environmental management. It may also redirect their employment prospects in managerial and policy positions in government and the private sector working as environmental management systems managers, auditors, policy analysts, environmentalist, parks rangers and natural resource managers.
