  • Objectives This program is for students who expect to operate in the international business sphere. The program begins with courses in management, marketing and human resources management and offers a range of more advanced courses which deal with issues in international business.
  • Entry requirements To gain entry to this program, students must have: * two years current work experience plus a bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college, or equivalent; or * an honours degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college, or equivalent; or * a CQU Graduate Diploma of Management, or equivalent.

    About Management (International Business)

    In today's world almost all big businesses are international and the Master of Management (International Business) will give its graduates the career edge they need. International management investigates issues involved in managing across borders. It examines how multinational enterprises achieve and sustain competitive advantage in an interdependent global economy. International management draws on business strategy, other functional areas of management and contextual studies of particular regions and countries.

    For those already a few years into a career, there is every possibility that your business or management experience will gain you entry into a masters level management degree program that will put you in line for a top management position.

    Employment opportunities exist for graduates looking to operate in the international business sphere or direct their career into positions, such as international marketing executive, international finance executive, business analyst, manager in international business or international public relations executive. This program is relevant for those planning careers with parent companies having foreign subsidiaries, export oriented firms and public sector bodies involved in cross-border commercial issues.


    Program Structure

    Students must complete 9 courses (72 units of credit) to graduate with the Master of Management (International Business).

    These courses will include:

        * 6 compulsory courses; and
        * 3 elective courses from the postgraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Business and Informatics.

    Electives to be chosen from the postgraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Business and Informatics or other postgraduate courses with approval from the Dean.  In choosing electives, students should ensure that Prerequisites are met.
