The modern BRIT facility at Hare Street Campus and associate trade Campus at Butcher Street have been hubs of community based industry partnerships and activities, aimed at providing a skilled workforce for the local community.
The BRIT Hare Street Campus (and administration hub) is located at the heart of the attractions of the Port of Echuca, including the Murray River paddle steamers, the railway station, and is close to the CBD and business precinct.
This brand new, modern purpose built campus services the Echuca and Moama district, including Rochester, Cohuna, Deniliquin, Kyabram, Tongala and Gunbower.
The BRIT Echuca Campuses offer courses in Business (Office Administration, Accounting and Information Technology), Koori Programs, Work Education, the VCAL, Hospitality, Automotive Technology, Building and Construction (Carpentry, Plumbing and Bricklaying), Electro technology, Engineering, Industrial Licensing, Workplace Training, Welding, Rural Studies and Agriculture.
Some of the short courses offered include Coffee Making, Farm Chemical Users, Industrial Licensing, Food Processing, Food Hygiene, Training and Assessment Upgrade and Responsible Service of Alcohol (VIC).
Courses cover the spectrum of training, from nationally accredited training packages to the VET in Schools programs, as well as industry specific training for the business and manufacturing sectors, on or off site.
To cater for its mixture of students, from youth to mature age, the campus contains a vast range of student services and facilities, including a student lounge, classrooms containing video and projection equipment and a fully equipped training kitchen and restaurant – Kickham’s Mill Restaurant. To showcase the hospitality apprentices, this training restaurant offers fine dinning of an evening or lunch, however bookings are essential.
To ensure that training is relevant and responsive, the experienced campus staff have developed significant links with local government and the community sector, as well as the rural, manufacturing, agriculture, small business and tourism sectors.
