Objectives
The Associate Degree in Learning Management program provides personal and professional development for a variety of school support workers such as Teacher Aides. The program will help students become better skilled in supporting children in the areas of literacy and numeracy and in assisting children with special needs. The Associate Degree in Learning Management is designed to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of: * theories and practices appropriate for the management of learning in an emergent education industry; * theories and practices appropriate for teaching in changing educational environments; and * the professional work of teachers and teaching no matter where they are located, including socio-ethical, legal and security issues in such settings.

Entry requirements
Domestic - Prerequisites: English (4, SA), entry is restricted to applicants who are experienced school learning support workers, such as teacher aides, as evidenced by supporting documentation (e.g. statement of service).

About Learning Management
The Associate Degree of Learning Management (ADLM) consists of 16 courses/96 units of credit which is 50% of the Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood) and Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary) programs. Applicants who have completed a Certificate in Teachers Aide may be eligible to receive credit towards the program.
Graduates of the Associate Degree of Learning Management may be eligible to articulate into the Bachelor of Learning Management program and consequently receive teacher registration.
Note: it is now a requirement of the Commission for Children and Young People that all university students and other volunteers in schools undergo a criminal history check. Therefore, it will be necessary for all commencing students to apply for a 'Suitability Blue Card' through a nominated person at each campus. The 'Suitability Blue Card' remains current for two years.

Program Structure
The Associate Degree in Learning Management consists of 16 courses/96 units of credit. Applicants who have completed a Certificate in Teachers Aide may be eligible to receive credit towards the program.
Teacher aides with at least two years experience or who are recommended by the Principal of the school in which they are employed are eligible to apply for entry. The recommendation by the school's principal for entry must be supportive of the applicant's ability to complete the program.
Students will be required to enrol as an internal student but will be able to study online while they continue in their employment within an educational setting.
Graduates of the Associate Degree in Learning Management may be eligible to articulate into the Bachelor of Learning Management program and consequently receive teacher registration.
