Course description
This course has been developed to enable learners to satisfy the
requirements for the Certificate IV in Business Administration BSB40507
requiring 10 units - 5 Administration units plus 5 elective units. At
least 1 of the elective units must be selected from the remaining
administration units, the elective units listed in the package or from an
equivalent level qualification within the BSB07 Business Services Training
To satisfy these requirements this course has been structured into two (2)
groups plus an optional tutorial group.
Group 1 contains 2 subgroups - containing the Administration units in
subgroup 1 and elective units in subgroup 2. Learners must complete 9
units from this group including at least 5 from the Administration units
in subgroup 1.
The additional 4 elective units to accomplish the 10 units required for
this qualification, may be selected from the remaining elective units in
group 1 subgroup 1, subgroup 2 and/or group 2; or the BSB07 Business
Services Training Package or any other currently endorsed national
Training Package. (see **Note** below).
Group 1 subgroup 2 contains optional elective units as per the training
package list plus other Certificate IV units. Learners may complete up to
this group.
Note: a maximum of 1 unit may be selected from group 2 containing
Certificate III and Diploma units.
BSBITU307A Develop keyboarding speed and accuracy cannot be included as an
elective unit for this qualification. This unit has been included as an
enrichment unit to assist students who need to improve their keyboard
speed and accuracy, however it cannot be counted as an elective towards
the qualification.
Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry
requirements and the qualification level.
Units selected from other Training Packages must not duplicate units
selected from or available within the BSB07 Business Services Training
Package.
**Note**
The teaching section, through their line manager, should contact the course
sponsor if a request is received from:
* an industry group to include a specific unit of competency in a
qualification that is not already in the course
* a learner seeking recognition for a unit(s) of competency not included
the course and achieved at another RTO or TAFE Institute.
The course sponsor will:
* check if the requested unit(s) of competency meet the Training Package
qualification completion rules
* include the unit(s) of competency in the course structure in an
appropriate group for delivery or recognition.
