Objectives
If you are thinking about a career in community services, this course aims to provide you with the first step to obtaining a qualification. Through theoretical and practical training this course will provide a pathway to a variety of community services qualifications including aged care, disability work, youth work, and children’s services.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for this course you must have organisational, literacy and numeracy skills to at least year 10 standard as well as appropriate attitudes and potential for working in the community services sector. Other Entry Requirements Attendance at an Information Session (contact the institute for a time and date). Participation in selection processes including group interviews and a written activity is also required.

To apply for most community services positions, you will need a minimum of Certificate III or IV in a chosen stream.
Further Study Options
After completion of this course you are encouraged to complete at least Certificate III or Certificate IV in a chosen stream. It is important to note that successful completion of this Certificate does not guarantee a place in any of the pathway courses.
