  • Objectives
    This course equips caregivers with the knowledge and skills required to provide support in quality care and educational programs for children from 0 to 12 years of age.
  • Entry requirements
    All applicants must successfully complete * A literacy and numeracy selection test. The test which costs $45 is conducted by Vetassess. Other Entry Requirements Prospective students will need to demonstrate * An interest in and suitability for work in the field of Children's Services * Sound literacy and well developed communication skills * Physical and psychological health necessary to meet course requirements (including on-the-job training) * A genuine interest in children and the ability to accept responsibility A current Police Check is required prior to commencing in addition to a Working with Children Check. Applicants are required to complete and submit a BRIT Expression of Interest Form. Attendance at one of the following Information Sessions is recommended:- Wednesday 17th September 6.30pm Wednesday 15th October 6.30pm Venue Building P, Level 2, Theatrette, City Campus Bendigo You will need to have completed a minimum of one full day of voluntary attendance at a child care centre before your interview. Applicants currently working in the field may use their present centre for this purpose.

    Employment Opportunities    

    On successfully completing this course you will be eligible for employment as an AQF Level 3 Child Care professional, providing support in a range of children's programs such as centre based and occasional care, home based care in a Family Day Care Scheme or as a nanny.

    Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to apply to enter the Diploma course and receive credits.
