Objectives
The Graduate Certificate of Organisational Learning is designed to provide a comprehensive body of theory and practice to students wishing to develop competencies in developing and leading organisations to achieve their strategic goals and mission. The course aims to develop a critical awareness of organisations as knowledge and learning systems. It is of direct relevance to those individuals in leadership positions and human resources/organisational development roles. Learning outcomes After completion of the course, students are expected to be able to: * critically evaluate different models of organisational knowledge and learning; * appreciate the complexity of organisations as knowledge and learning systems; and * design interventions to improve learning and knowledge sharing capacity in their organisations.

Entry requirements
Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have not less than two years relevant work experience. However, the Faculty Board may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.

Course description
The Graduate Certificate in Organisational Learning is an 18-unit program offered jointly by the Flinders Institute of Public Policy and Management and the School of Education on a fee-paying basis.
It articulates with five 72-unit masters programs:
* Master of Public Administration
* Master of Public Administration (Management)
* Master of Public Administration (Policy)
* Master of Education (Leadership and Management)
* Master of Education
Students who complete the graduate certificate normally receive credit for up to 18 units of topics should they wish to proceed with one of the above programs.
PROGRAM OF STUDY [November, 2008]
To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Learning, a student must complete 18 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic. Students are required to complete two compulsory topics, and one of the specified elective topics.
