About the course
The Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management is suitable for health managers with backgrounds in medicine, nursing, allied health, paramedical science, commerce, accounting or general business administration. A key feature of the course is its capacity to meet the diverse needs of students from different professional and occupational groups, and backgrounds of employment.
To be eligible for this course, applicants must have a degree in a health-related or business-related area or a Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management.
The Graduate Diploma aims to equip students with the skills, 'know how' and ‘know why’ needed to function effectively as managers in the broad health services context.
Your course is recognised by industry
The course was designed in consultation with relevant professional bodies including the Australian College of Health Service Executives and the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators, taking cognisance of their accreditation requirements. This course is accredited with the Australian College of Health Service Executives. Articulation
Applicants with a clinical qualification and health industry experience but who do not hold an undergraduate degree may apply to enter the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management. On successful completion of that program they may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management, and will be awarded 32 points of credit for the Graduate Certificate subjects successfully completed.
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students must have satisfactorily completed a mimimum of eight subjects (totalling 64 points) comprising five core subjects and three elective subjects.
Further postgraduate study
Students with a satisfactory academic record, typically at a Credit grade average, may be eligible to apply for entry into the Master of Health Services Management program. Any inquiries should be directed to the Course Coordinator.
