Course Description
Recent Australian research has established that when teachers perceive themselves as leaders and are able to engage as leaders in the teaching and learning process, schools are transformed as learning communities. This course aims to explore the often divided worlds of teaching and leading in conceptually sophisticated and strategically powerful way, so as to nurture sustainable educational change, led primarily by teachers. This course will explore new concepts and approaches to teaching and learning that highlight the partnership of teachers and administrators in building a culture of leadership in schools. This program offers students the opportunity to explore in depth the unique dimensions of leading in Catholic schools, and has the flexibility to cater for those from other denominations and the public sector.
English Language Requirements
Applicants require IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with an overall score of 6.5, including an individual score of 6.0 for all tests.

EFTSL value of units: All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.
1. Requirements for Completion of the Degree
1. To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:
1. 10 cp from Core units;
2. 30 cp from Specialist units;
3. 40 cp from Specialist units or Electives.
2. A student who has completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership may be granted advanced standing.
2. Exit Point
A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership may exit from the course with that award.
