Course description
It is expected that graduates of the course will be able to demonstrate:
1.
1. the capacity to prepare and perform substantial public recitals of high professional standard and with a particular focus;
or
2. composition and presentation of substantial and cohesive musical works of a high professional standard;
2. highly developed performance or compositional technique;
3. utilisation of musicological knowledge and method to inform their performance or composition;
4. effective communication of their own knowledge and understanding of music;
5. skills in researching, developing and presenting a scholarly commentary on a designated performance or composition;
6. professional and ethical behaviour, reflecting the ethos of the University's Mission, which supports the uniqueness and dignity of each person.

1. Requirements for Completion of the Degree
To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings consisting of:
1. 40 cp from Performance, Choral Direction or Music Composition Units;
2. 20 cp from Research Units directly associated with the student’s performances or Composition Folios;
3. 20 cp from Electives.
