Objectives
Artists and designers of the future need to be able to: work across disciplines, collaborate with artists and designers in other fields, be literate in new technologies, have a broad understanding of their place in the history of art and design practice, be conversant with current debates in cultural theory. The Postgraduate Certificate in Visual Arts and Design, Postgraduate Diploma in Visual Arts and Design and the Master of Visual Arts and Design are designed to enable students to further their knowledge and experience of the practices of visual arts or design disciplines. The courses provide opportunities for graduates wishing to extend their three-year undergraduate period of study in visual arts and design and are intended to cater for members of a wide range of professions in the visual arts and design disciplines, as well as for those motivated by personal interest in the academic study of visual arts and design. Two specialisations are available in either Design Studio in Graphic Design and Multimedia or Studio Practice in 2D/3D Object Design.
